Brock Maples
Founding Partner
Brock's path into real estate law started in the oil and gas sector — working as a landman searching oil and gas title across the South. That courthouse experience led him to start his own real estate closing firm, where he eventually partnered with Gardner Richey to form Maples & Richey, PLLC.
Today, Brock focuses on real estate closings, with particular expertise in recreational and agricultural land, commercial transactions, and residential home closings. What sets the firm apart is a rare depth of title knowledge: rather than relying solely on third-party abstractors, Brock and his partner have searched title themselves in courthouses across Mississippi and continue to handle complex mineral and land searches in-house.
Brock is a Jackson native and a graduate of Jackson Academy. He earned a degree in Biochemistry from Mississippi State University and his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, gaining admission to the Texas Bar in 2009 and the Mississippi Bar in 2011.
Outside the office, Brock and his wife Lora, an Indianola native, homeschool their four children in Flora, staying busy with kids' activities, coaching whatever youth sports are in season, and running a cattle operation on their farm.
