Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 1, 2026
Maples & Richey, PLLC ("the firm," "we," "us") operates this website. This policy explains what information the site collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because our data practices are simple: we collect what you send us through our forms, we use a small set of service providers to run the site, and we do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Before you send funds — verify wire instructions
Wire fraud is the single largest risk in a real estate transaction. Criminals monitor email and send convincing but fraudulent payment instructions.
We will never send you changed or updated wire instructions by email or text message. Before sending funds in any transaction, call our office at 601-707-4114 — using the number on this website, not a number from an email — and verify the instructions by voice with someone you know at the firm. If you receive wire instructions that appear to come from us, treat them as suspect until you have verified them by phone.
What this policy covers
This policy covers information collected through this website, including information we pass to our affiliate, Mount Leopard Abstract Company, LLC, when we order a title search on your matter.
It does not govern information in a client file. Once we have confirmed an engagement, information relating to your matter is protected by Mississippi Rule of Professional Conduct 1.6 and by the terms of your engagement agreement, which impose stricter obligations than this policy.
Information you give us
When you submit a contact or intake form on this site, we collect the information you type in. Depending on the form, that may include:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Information about a property or transaction (such as an address, county, or a description of the work you need)
- Your message
- How you heard about us
Your submission is saved in our database and emailed to us so we can respond. We use this information to answer your question, evaluate your request, run a conflicts check, and follow up with you. Submitting a form is a request for our services — it does not by itself make you a client. See our Terms of Use for more on that.
If you call or email us directly, we keep those communications the way any business keeps its correspondence.
Communications from us
We use your contact information to respond to you and, if you become a client, to communicate about your transaction.
We may also send occasional emails about the firm, Mississippi real estate topics, or changes that affect closings. Every one of those emails includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect communications about an active matter.
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about your transaction. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out.
Information collected automatically
Analytics. This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool. It gives us aggregate numbers — how many people visited a page, roughly where traffic comes from — without advertising identifiers and without tracking you across other websites.
Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated spam. Turnstile may process technical signals from your browser and device (such as your IP address and browser characteristics) to tell people from bots. It is not used to advertise to you or to track you across other sites.
Cookies and similar technologies. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking on this site, and we do not allow third parties to collect information here for their own advertising. Our hosting, security, and content-delivery providers may set cookies or use similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the site, keep it secure, and distinguish human visitors from automated traffic.
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps routine server logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Service providers
We use a small number of companies to operate the site, and they process data on our behalf:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers, which run the website and store our database
- Cloudflare, which provides our content delivery network, security, spam protection, and analytics
- A transactional email provider, which delivers form notifications and our automated replies
These providers handle data to provide their services to us. We do not authorize them to use your information for their own marketing.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not share it with third parties for their marketing.
- We do not run third-party advertising on this site or use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
We may disclose information if the law requires it (for example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order), or as needed to protect our legal rights or investigate fraud or abuse of the site.
Your choices
Because we do not sell your information or advertise to you, most privacy choices here are simple:
- Access or correction. Ask us what we hold from your form submission, or ask us to correct it.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete a submission that did not lead to an engagement. We will honor the request where the law and our professional obligations allow. Records tied to an actual client matter are governed by the retention practices that apply to client files.
- Email. Unsubscribe from any non-transactional email using the link in that email, or tell us directly.
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any text message from us, or tell us directly.
- Browser signals. We honor recognized browser-based opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing for the signal to switch off, but we will treat it as an opt-out request.
To make any of these requests, use the contact information at the end of this policy.
How long we keep information
We keep form submissions as long as we reasonably need them to respond to you, maintain our business records, and meet our professional and legal obligations. Submissions that do not lead to an engagement are generally deleted within three years. If your inquiry becomes a client matter, the related records are kept under the retention practices that apply to client files.
Children
This site is for adults dealing with real estate matters. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical, physical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information you send us, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) to this site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use good judgment about what you send through a website form — and see the wire instruction warning at the top of this page.
If a security incident affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and any regulator as required by Mississippi law and any other law that applies.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page. We keep dated copies of prior versions.
